Panthers Fire Trio of Coaches
Posted 1/9/2013 8:09:00 AM

The Panthers parted company with three assistant coaches, RB coach John Settle, WR coach Fred Graves and LB coach Warren Belin.

Settle played college football at Appalachian State and his group was among the NFL's best in 2011 before some back-sliding this year.  However, DeAngelo Williams set the franchise record with 210 yards rushing in the season finale.

Graves was Steve Smith's position coach at Utah and has extensive NFL coaching experience.  Belin oversaw a linebacking group that included rookie Luke Kuechly leading the league in tackles.

The Panthers fired special teams coach Brian Murphy during the season, and of course GM Marty Hurney after week-6.
