Panthers starting DT Ron Edwards was placed on injured reserve with a dislocated elbow.  Last year, Edwards missed the entire season with a torn triceps muscle.

With 5 games remaining, that means an opportunity for other players including second year tackle Sione Fua.  The Panthers 3rd round pick out of Stanford last season has seen back-up time this year after getting more opportunities as a rookie.
