The Panthers dismissed Marty Hurney as GM of the team Monday, following their fourth loss in a row.  At (1-5), the Panthers have now won just nine games since the start of the 2010 season.  They have never had back-to-back winning seasons, and have not had a winning season since 2008.

Marty was a good friend to the Panthers broadcast crew, making himself available for interviews win or lose, during the week, before games and after games.  You can hear his most pointed answer from Sunday's post-game show on WBT on the right side of this blog.  He takes responsibility for the team's win-loss record and apparently on Monday the ownership agreed.

The reality is that a combination of things have conspired to have the Panthers scrambling as we near November, and it was just a matter of time before some consequences would be felt.
