A dozen students were transported to area hospitals Wednesday afternoon following a school bus wreck in west Charlotte.
MEDIC described the students' injuries as minor. A spokesperson for Charlotte Fire said the injuries were mostly "bumps, scrapes, and bruises."
Bus #1031 from Allenbrook Elementary School crashed at Freedom Drive and Toddville Road around 2:30 pm. Officials said at least two other vehicles were involved in the wreck. Further details about the crash, including who was at fault, were readily available.
Six of the injured students were taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment, while the other six were transported to Presbyterian Hospital.
Students who were not injured, and whose parents did not collect them at the scene of the wreck were taken home by CMS on their normal bus route.
