But what you pay for marketing goes you can't get over the weekend. Trying to run up to have invest surrounding areas that saw eight bucks a shot ten votes so fifteenth saw twice 125 cents an auction doesn't. It's off 45. The highest that I saw was seventy bucks a much. Seven dollars. Shares worth it though if you like low scores. It's almost like it was soccer game. And as far as that school district glad to have two and out to good way to do it go into the beginning of the season. So if you paid eighty but she's still got a discount compared to the Los Angeles chargers. They a hundred bucks. Hundred bucks for fans to park in the general tailgating blocked. There's a lot of money hundred dollars. You have to make you grow your blood boil their. Blood pressure to go up. If you could go there and tailgate you need a couple appears to have to handle something like that we have protests and Saint Louis were to get to that coming up another shooting. Chizik shootings are always in the news these days. Thomas deserves. Well the sources of people want shootings to be in the news. And engineering student from an accounting fatally shot by a police officer and Georgia Tech's campus that happened Saturday night well. You can hear campus police shall drop the knife to the student before gunshots last night. Officials say 21 year old Scot Shields refused to drop his weapon and kept moving toward officers outside dorm rooms. Our sister station in a land our reports the weapon that was still on the ground when reporters arrived. Appeared to be a half open a multi tool without any attachments extended. Right now it's unclear why officers responded to the area where shields was walking on campus. His mother told the Atlanta journal constitution. That her son had numerous medical issues including depression we're also working to find out if the officers involved are still on duty. Officers were saying nobody wants to hurt you. Nobody wants to hurt you drop the knife. Disturbing how at all and have gone down generally. Mr. in my experience in the past is where and when there's actual audio of shooting. There's not much noise coming from the actual victim. Themselves. This time around. That engineering student different animal all together. Yes my yes hear my open as. It's disturbing. To say the least disturbing. But new approach to policing you've got a weapon. Unfortunately. There are consequences. There are consequences. Do you c'mon Scott. Riots we all remember from last year Saint Louis Bryant's Cohen on several people are arrested we talk to some folks from Saint Louis is the morning progresses. To get an update on Nancy held on the violence is gonna go there the White House is denying reports that via truck administration no longer wants to withdraw. From the Paris climate accord. This came in the statement on Saturday White House deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters said there's been no change in the US position on the perished agreement. President made it to them but medley clear we would draw the most we can Rihanna or on terms that are more favorable to our country. People looking at the Paris climate courts pointing a finger at the united states of Americans saying guess what. It's the US's fault the US's fault at all these hurricanes are coming. Of course are gonna point the finger at us the whole world points a finger at us for everything bad that happens on this planet don't think. How winning an update from our Richard Llewellyn with the weather channel about what's happening with the other hurricanes that are. Brought around there in the Atlantic not good stuff the federal government auctioned off disaster response trailers just recently. Just before Harvey devastated south east Texas. Whichever deuce is an already diminished supply of mobile phones ahead of what's to become the nature's nation's largest ever. Housing mission. Timing is everything. Timing is everything and I in this particular case timing not so good Richard Llewellyn with a weather channel joins us next we'll find out who is in. The path of the dust storms that are in the Atlantic hurricane season for sure this is news 1110993. Of the BT's. Like the drill at WB TSA official tailgate spot the Coca-Cola dogging us. Live music sauce it's Barbeque and beer JJ is Reggie. Is real ice cream for. Boy the whole day. Side people are living longer and guess what there's a new fear that is up brewing in us as Americans and that is money. An income and all living Armani. A retirement savings just not going to be enough so question cheers you look at your plan. How much of your retirement savings do you want to loose. Now under a how much can you afford to lose. Some folks can afford to lose some I'm not one of those people maybe you're in that same boat what I want is a plan that allows me to never go backwards only forwards and that is certainly a possibility some very real situation for you. We the family firm blue waters financial. When I work with them I know that my money is safe do you know that for sure. If you got money in the market if you have investments investments in the markets simply mean he got money and you hope it's gonna go up hoping to make some. Bloop that's 7047902583. Blue waters financial. I seventy and it's time. But we'll get to originally Welling from the weather channel here talk about hurricanes two of them that. Could be very concerning for us to talk about via the shooting that Georgia Tech student. Allegedly had a knife turned out it was a a multiple use too would not and pulled out there unfortunately blew up police have to dig in and out. But it was a matter of consequences he did not respond to the police and their request Johnny called 704571110. Happy Monday. John good morning. Jarden once. John if you unfortunately. Demanding you to win Osgood to a Richard Llewellyn with the weather channel now here in the richer where would you like to start should we do it in alphabetical order to start with Jose. Delegates are what Jose first look at the what we're looking at this morning is Jose is. And starting to have taken a lot of dry here on the southern side of the system this morning and doesn't look as healthy as it did yesterday eight. And of course say it's still going to have continued to you brings some gusty winds and some rain to areas from the Delaware coast northward. On up into a Massachusetts. Wins right now 85 miles per hour. Hurricane hunters are out there flying around right now to see us. Exactly what's left of the system and I will more than likely see the system start to weaken further but it's still expected to stay error came through tomorrow. So I just some gusty winds and some rain looks like the worst of the weather. Will be up for central and eastern Long Island on up into Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Are places like Bob Collins Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Probably end up seeing up some pretty slowly weather and some pretty gusty winds come again and so we make our way through the next couple of days they're just gonna trying to hang out. South of Cape Cod. Through the end of the week into the weekend in May actually try to make a run back toward the mid Atlantic coast over the weekend so. Something that will be watching but I think that there will be something that will be on momma weakening trend. Well once that happens as we get toward Thursday Friday in the weekend coming up. All right so so that neck of the woods. They're used to winter storms that come their way is very difference in preparations during the summertime with hurricanes are supposed to those winter storms as foresters were not. Really I mean usually I mean it's it's more of a it's more of a threat to of people who go home boats and ships and stuff that are waddle on the immediate coast kind of course will be high surf and beach erosion concerns. And of course a lot of heavy rain and gusty winds but this is more like a nor'easter in and that and that sense of course. When that nor'easter can be just as strong 5060 at the seventy miles per hour. And I think that's what they're going to be dealing with because as the storm continues to weaken and goes into an extra tropical praised the obvious factual more than likely be about. Playing touching and a before we move on to Maria did you say there's a possibility this thing could do swing around and come back to the mid Atlantic. You have may actually try to come back toward the mid Atlantic some of the models have been. Standing around that it may actually. I'll start to feel some of the influence from Maria down the road and may actually try to swing back towards. Other Virginia Tidewater eastern North Carolina late in the weekend or early next week. So that's something that we're gonna have to keep an eye on as we go watch Maria as it comes up from the south and and from the south and east. OK so could be one flip around. Have we ever had a hurricane do yet to flip around worry wound up and then came back at the coast again lineup and then came back in at the coast again are we would had. Several hurricanes and have actually done that throughout another hurricane we've throughout Turkey and history that. We've seen that done several loops one. Actually one is far east is the Azores and then made a loop and then came back toward the East Coast of the US. And made landfall near Jacksonville Florida. Several years back so. These multiple loops systems can happen in we usually see that. Maybe once every five to seven years or so when some tropical systems are well whenever I have. The Mets a carnival ride does I'd like to avoid at all possible let's move on to a to Maria it's after hurricane turned into hurricane category one towards the Leeward Islands. There's concern that this one might take the same path. That we do is dealt with the wind arm. Yeah I think the paths with the widow Marie is going to be a little bit further to the south would this of course places like Antigua and Barbuda who took it. Very hard with the system coming through bear maybe missed the worst of it would this point but this time it looks like the US Virgin Islands so the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. On May get the worst of this system and it may be a major hurricane. As it cuts across a Puerto Rico. In about two to three days' time of course there are hurricane watch is up to Puerto Rico right mail. But if this storm does what it's forecast to do this could be a big hit this could be probably. The worst hurricane to hit Puerto Rico since 1926. When a category four cut through the island then. And looks like what we're seeing right now with a path of this system it looks like it's gonna cut the island and have to. Going from southwest and southeast in northwest across. The island and eventually move on out into the open waters of the Atlantic and gets nor for the bombers. And I think that's a really have to start keeping our eyes on things as we move toward the latter half of the weakened toward the weekend. Some of the models are pending that. This may be something that we may have to deal with down the road for the Carolinas. Some of the models so kicking on out to sea and were hoping. That said the system will stay far enough out to see that it won't cause any major impacts on the East Coast but. Right now it's way too early to call where the system goes once he gets past the islands so it's Obama will be watching through the week. I have look at the weather channel right now it looks like as some of the models we considered taking it to. Aura to the edges Georgia South Carolina maybe even the North Carolina so you lovely lovely lovely there's going to be some violence and again and again that. They may never recover or it's gonna take years and years and years will be nothing left yourself Richard Llewellyn with a weather Chad appreciate the call. Below we'll keep you abreast of these civilian the situation here as far as what's happening whether. It's what hurricane season ain't over yet we're nowhere near over here so we've already had a couple that have caused some major problems and a guitars and give a common view you can't just concerned look on your face here shall like to see yes we know blog written. The you're exactly right about what's happening in Caribbean. And for many people I mean literally millions of people they take cruises. Out of anywhere from Galveston. Two mobile. Tampa Miami Florida jail Charleston and Jacksonville port canal room. Every single one of those crews are going to the Caribbean. Movie changing their itinerary. As of last week. You've done a lot of cruising so I'm been researching this yeah like I don't coming up in November. OK so obviously this is something that is concerning you yes when you say that they they change there are tenor yes there's always some different places they can that's correct to where they go. They've got still the Bahamas and are good they've got Cuba which is actually find Duca and they've got what they're saying is instead of the eastern Caribbean that's for all the US Virgin Islands. And the British Virgin Islands Saint Martin and it's all that is that are not now able to take on. In our cruisers they're going after the western Caribbean which is believes cousin Mel Honduras. That's mahogany bay got you those types of places that's enough. Over there even to Aruba and Curacao so more like Central America and other southern portion of Mexico most people find their itineraries have completely changed for at least the next two months while they were going to these contribute no well thank you awfully low hurricane season Milan. Before UN economic crews pick. Cause serve another term that's a big part of your life from day in your life if you life so the NFL level and win every protester in the panthers' game but other places you can do it. We preserve a hunting NFL would prefer especially good these protests take a backseat to what's going on field was. It's not happening Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett. After he sat here and a couple other dudes to be a single raised fist. That's the black power tips. There's always gonna catch on. It wouldn't surprise me it wouldn't surprise me at all. And atrocities in religious gets under way sort of like hurricane season and no major we have some more problems are Bruin. I you've come a time is coming up on 926. We'll talk to Karen Travers with ABC. Quite a bit on tap for the president including addressing the United Nations his first opportunity to do this and did you know for sure. America first to be one of the things that comes out of his mouth stands. They would stay tuned to news 1110 that it 93 WBT it's on the way. That man right there it's YouTube. Had to cancel two trustees had to cancel one concert it Sharon had to cancel his concert. One was for Saturday when it was first Sunday in Saint Louis. It was a lot of concern for fans' safety because of the sporadic protest over the police officers' acquittal and your solar. We heard this kind of story before haven't they put out a statement on Saturday morning saying that venue security. And officers would be a Saint Louis metropolitan police department know they couldn't guarantee they would be unable to provide the normal security expect from the show. So be they wrote we cannot in good conscious risk our fans' safety. By proceeding with tonight's concert as much as we regret having to cancel we feel it's the only acceptable course of action in the current environment. It's amazing how how much power. Couple of protesters. Wheeled. Sporadic protests. Go ahead of the the announcement about the acquittal. Via the governors of the or Missouri had had National Guard folks standing by. Didn't need to use. That's good news. Better his chances are these. These protests are probably not over. Probably not over rural and were pursue whether or not in in Georgia whether or not they have protest. Over the these big gay activist that got shot and Georgia Tech who was only. Carrying. Well a multi a multi use tool with a call them when those things called to a multi tool here's something else is another name for him. There's a look at brand name for the Dominican and I remember I was going to play BC's Karen Travers and the the world's stage. The president has been on several stages and noticeably the first time that I get stopped up on one where the world was looking with the United Nations. Yet he really think the president travel abroad these scenes and you are twelve leaders at the White House and oversees that this is different in his big debut at the United Nations. And that is an organization that he had been. Very critical of in the path. About the UN and its priorities. Here's a quote to last year he said the UN is an affront to democracy is not a friend freedom is not a friend even to the United States. Will he say that sentenced tomorrow in his big address probably not but the method will still be there. This administration wants to see big reforms of the UN and they are patting themselves on the back a bit that they believe they've accomplished a lot in just a couple of. Yeah and and the the feeling seems to be coming out of the White House is that the UN. And the world sort of blame us for all the problems of the world seems like we hear very little credit even though we're the one that puts in the most money. For peacekeeping and other mission in this do you think he's gonna ask how fair this is. Is he possibly could and I think also you know how line better ways to use that money better ways to use your resources and focus. What the United Nations and cannot do. In in conflicts overseas peacekeeping missions things like that you know that's certainly what we've heard from the Caylee so far. I think the president with about that message in his remarks but you know he also has a very robust schedule of meetings with world leaders North Korea and Iran two very big topics this. Yeah absolutely yeah that's that is a full assure their wounds and over and over yet. What about the the Paris climate accord I heard conflicting reports over the weekend and you know the administration's supposedly says one thing with masters is another thing what is going on. Yeah this was acquittals in the dust up for the administration over the weekend that are important source to European officials saying that the president is considering staying in and they very quickly came out and push back against that saying no no no the president has made it clear. That to the US has withdrawn from that's because they don't think it was a good deal for the benefit of the US. But and the wiggle room here I think interest and we have the national security advisors saying that. Well he could decide to me and if there's a better agreement or are we and terror the deal if it's better for the US. So we'll see. You know it's certainly an interest gains. Tell me and not absolutely closing the door but you know we've heard the president talk about going to renegotiate. Every deal that somebody Obama administration it's unclear if and when they would give up. Yes what about your take on the Emmys I'm sure that there's a lot of folks within the world of media that were watching it. And you know surprising got political very very quickly. You're dead amenable to every block had some. Political. Message political moment joke you know I think we're certainly gonna see a lot of this. Going forward an award shows the with the Oscars last year. And yet in either as celebrated TV so I politics on TV leaflets seeing BP gets more wins. We you're surprised that Spicer made an appearance at. I was surprised I you know that seemed GOP it could be done with Melissa McCarthy being spied some states there is very different than sound Spencer. Doing and south you know I think the crowd was laughing and ensure that people watching at home laughing but it is important to note that. This is a former Press Secretary. Making a joke about the fact that he lied at the direction of the president yeah. That that night that had me scratching my handled or you're gone really. And you you did this you allowed yourself to a to go into that solo kind of on the strange site should care Trevor sending us we need to know about today as are as American people. How can catch the ball big theme the president will sit down with a guy president of France in the prime minister of Israel. To start off his round of meetings with world leaders. And I happen over the next three days that there really busy schedule but. There's something president's home he's in New York he's going to be pretty excited I think both spring newest step for being back in Manhattan. Yep absolutely security going to be extra doubly. Well vigilant as the president is in New York city's storm take a break and when we come back we'll talk a little bit about North Korea plus. I'm really a little insight into what's gonna happen tomorrow here. Kind of a special program as soon. The entire team gathers around microphones. Please be update on that's coming up on news 11109 events three of the B team. Till Monday yeah strap on a brand new work was flustered when did you drink any beer over the weekend. Maybe during some of the football games. If you did you're not alone. The NFL's return. For the Tories seven team's season already big giant major boost to restaurants that sell beer. Saw all the sports bars any place that's got some TVs hanging down from the up from the ceiling there. The. Spezza that's what they sold more on the wings butter burgers and a lot of beer total beer consumption. For the first Sunday. 36 point 6% higher compared to the Sunday previous. That's incredible. The sales volume also 77 point 2% higher than on the first Sunday of the torrent sixteen season. No I would attribute that to yes football started again. And two there's just so much crap going on in the world where people are saying truth just beat me they'll be Yorker with. I became a total. American beer big choice. More than half of the beer drinkers opting for domestic options. And as student is not a surprise. Bud Light and Miller Lite proved to be the most popular aux options. Ahead of craft Beers. Craft Beers erupt. Quite a bit. But a twelve point 2%. Over the previous year so beer drinkers back at it again. On Sundays tomorrow the 11 o'clock hour here on who's 1110993. WBT left. This confirmed can express gonna join us trying it's gonna be a bit of a roundtable. Really looking forward to this so it's going to be meeting. That would be Scott at two WBT dot com Scott at WBT. Dot com and and we'll get those ready to roll for you so that we can find out what. The Republican mayoral candidate has got on his mind that's on 949 more than eighty people arrested after a third night of demonstrations in Saint Louis. Old because the acquittal a former police officer Ryan Borough joins us now from ABC. What is the latest of this are we thinking that perhaps this is gonna come down are we still think it may be. There's years. Powder still that are left in the gun. He had led the you know there are still demonstrations going on today we don't know that there will be more violence associated with this what we've seen over the last three days this. How peaceful protests in the streets hundreds said maybe thousands of people walking marching chanting. No big deal everyone's got their First Amendment right to do yourself and the governor and the mayor have said you're more than welcome to do that but what we've seen in the evening is as these groups start to disperse break up a little bit the pastors and activists who are leading these demonstrations I tell everyone they've they've accomplished what they wanted to do. There are some groups that continue to demonstrated continued to kind of run a strain of some of the neighborhoods. And what we saw last night would eighty people arrested. Broken windows way add to our hotel at sushi restaurant as well as. Nail salon. Damage to concrete planters. Some garbage cans that had been overturned and dad they mentioned eighty people arrested many of them rounded up by police. Oh late into the evening for not going home they essentially try to disperse them when the people pitted. They started arresting out some of those eighty people included reporters. We're trying to cover the events they essentially just wrangled a ball lopped. But still he had dozens of people out there you know beyond police his orders and they were told believe. All right remember what you were they receive joining us you're Saint Louis is the other scene of this situation. Now of these these writers of these looters. What sort of neighborhoods. Is is going down and as this the the looters neighborhoods or are they branching out and going into neighborhoods that are that are not there wrong. This is mostly bad downtown met most of it is dead because the demonstrations have been a kind of Rollins says the police department send and the courts. Building is that that's kind of where they are the main focus has banned its. And then he would all of us and I know a lot of good downtown area was essentially shut down over the weekend because of fear of these demonstrations to protest a lot of businesses opting not to open up on Friday a lot of the schools closed down early just for fears of lift. All but they're trying to get back open again today and they want to get back to business as normal and there will be demonstrations. But the question is how will they continue to be violence. Got you into when they're they're goal they said was to shut down the economy. Looks like that's not gonna happen here movement forward do we know who's behind this. Any sort of groups saying you know what we're lead the charge cheers apocalypse matter and if not do we have any idea about that. Welcome black white matter does have their stump for a job if there there are plenty of signs and bad you know people who who identifies such a lot of the leaders are black clergy leaders. Who are just not satisfied with how police have handled this whole situation you're not familiar with letting the states back to 201110. This case happened well before Ferguson well before Chicago global four Minneapolis and Cleveland and Baltimore until the you waste related police issues we've seen there. But it's been festering for a long time bed and says you know authorities knew. That when this announcement came a day at that white officer was acquitted by the way is no longer police Austria doesn't even live in Saint Louis said he more. I'll bet you know they're there could be a potential source of damaging protest said. You know they've they've stepped up you know with twelve our ships or police they stepped up with National Guard members and armed as of last night deplete the intra police chief he seems to think that's they do have the streets under control. And for Ron Berman ABC appreciate the update we had that opportunity for Thompson talked again to governor Pat McCrory. Thursday police review board may no idea of the council you know wanted to find out you know what people think about it and has been anyone is that we didn't go down that review and are gonna talk a lot as the week goes on about what is of course this week the anniversary. And they keep LaMont Scott shootings and the who riots and protests that happened after that damn we talk about that as we get later into the week on the actual anniversaries. I do wanna talk first this morning Charlotte Mecklenburg police chief Kerr Putney. On Friday at defended again the police shooting of Scott but he also said he accepted some of the recommendations made by the a civilian civilian group that reviewed the shooting and talking about the citizens review board. And end on Friday achieved but he said quote an armed non compliant subject is probably the most difficult encounter. An officer can experienced. He said that when the officers confront someone with a gun that in his words is a game changer. I'm curious so what is you were what are your thoughts on the idea of a citizen's review board in general. Yeah as mayor I was never maverick get up as I have a belief that citizens should have some role in the police investigation. And outside pole but I think it puts our police culture is somewhat of double jeopardy. And you've got to understand when they're shooting the police culture is already under a criminal investigation immediately under criminal investigation. We already already reviewed many many cases by the FBI. So I think it shows a lack of trust in the politicians about the police chief and city manager which they're the ones that that they hire. And I have I think we've got a great police chief and I used several. A saying when I was mayor. What the cheap the cheap and if you don't let the cheap beat she's been notified of the treats. But I think we had a great treat we don't trust them. I think he has made the process more transparent but we also have to picture a police culture involved in the shooting gets a fair hearing because it's not cystic. Hearing the city weather prediction you know not well and actually that term very. Consensus globally but also. Whether to crumble act or not and that police culture booze or so whites. Has their own rights of the defense and that's what concerned me about this call. I do think there's a middle ground here. And I think she the cheapest on the part of that middle ground but I also think. There are some may have orchestra protests and will never be satisfied with any process. And you'll always protest whatever results and whoever studied those results as we've seen lashed you're around the squad. Bob Johnson here and former governor and mayor Pat McCrory on the line with us this morning when a shift gears and talk about. President trump for a second here and he obviously is a prolific Tweeter. And over the weekend two of his tweets getting some attention one of them referring to Kim Jong-un. As a rocket man and I also he he read tweets things he sees out there sometimes in this case video made by somebody out there. Depicting our president trump. He's hitting Hillary Clinton with a golf ball and she falls over and so I bring these two tweets up because. You know Twitter was a thing while you were governor you didn't use it as much as he uses it may be used in different ways but. What what are your thoughts the way he uses it and the idea of it being in the mix politically to begin west. Well I would show what it used the border my campaign because that would allow me to get around the media especially patrol server which there are a lot of and so we'll take fake news about me during my tenure as governor I would try with a probable more factor jet over L server. And some of their news reporting especially here in the Charlotte mark. But you know one thing I recognize he's come to take it also blocked that effort probably awful but no job of from his tweets that concern me at the North Korean leaders actually. What concerned me and I think the new resolve to be itself. These actions the first remote it's very unpredictable. Unpredictable disabling. Was he referring to can jump on our president for. Because they are both unpredictable. That's what makes on dangerous and that is what makes the president entertaining we'll talk about that coming up plus we'll go live to Saint Louis and nice and Big Ten fifteen standby. And North Korea obviously a problem force. The president is to be speaking at a VA UN reform making. Yes you do that now looks like perhaps she's in front of the group of folks right now we'll check with ABC to see when that we can kind of defend America. Sure is an important it to become an out of that. He did have an opportunity to want to discuss with the the the head of South Korea the president South Korea their feelings about North Korea went down. Tonight president child. We'll meet with South Korean president in NJ and for the first time at the White House. And the main goal is to get North Korea to abandon its rapidly expanding nuclear and missile programs. But the resignation of ambassador to the UN because North Korea will continue beefing up its nuclear arsenal and regardless of the sanctions or military pressure that comes as your congressman on both sides of the aisle are proposing a new law restricting American tourism to the country. After the death of auto warm here. So yet so you can go to North Korea. I think Libya pretty bright move to not have to go in that direction. Which are one of the big fears about our dealings could North Korea is will this end up leading to a nuclear conflict. Nobody wants that. I mean even me even the well even the hawks the warhawks the war mongers. Don't wanna see this happen. We got close one time do you remember the story from what happened in 1983. Didn't come up for a long long time but once it did it was a it was chilling. September 26 so just a couple of days you know back in 1983 the anniversary this event in Stanislav Petro off. It's Russian Soviet time against help to prevent the outbreak of a nuclear war was a lieutenant colonel. India Soviet air defense forces and he start is his shift as he had duty officer. Which is in one of those secret command centers outside Moscow where what they were doing is monitoring. The early warning satellites over the US. And then alarms went off. The computers there weren't that five minute man Intercontinental ballistic missiles. Had been launched from an American base. And if I remember the story correctly. This was all going down at the same time. That the United States and and NATO countries were doing some big drills. Not that far away from from the eastern bloc countries. Obviously there were some folks who puckered up there about that. It's for fifteen seconds. Petrov said we were in a state of shock. We needed to understand. What's next. The crew members are very tense period of time this was one of the land Texas. Periods in the Cold War he was on a long three weeks earlier the Soviets had shot down near Korean air water commercial flight remember that. He took crossed into Soviet airspace airspace and dead you know all 269 people including. The congressman from Georgia. President Reagan. Had rejected calls for freezing the arms race calling the Soviet Union and evil empire. And earlier in drop out he was the Soviet leader at the time he was obsessed by fears of an American attack. So Petro off together and talk about he was in a pivotal position. To absorb appointment then your decision making chain and his superiors at the warning system reported to the general staff for the Soviet military. Who would then go up there up the chain to mr. and drop off on what to do. And we're discussions about launching a retaliatory attack. After five nerve wracking minutes he said electronic maps and screens were flashing. He had a fun and one hand in are coming other trying to absorb all sorts of different strains of incoming information if you remember 1983 computers were not all that sophisticated so they had. Basically DOS based systems to. To try to figure this all up. The colonel pat trump decided that the launch reports were probably. A false alarm. It was a good decision. When Johnny said you know at best it was real 5050 yes. Primarily because like I dissent about the computers he didn't trust the early warning system. Commissioner bring this up there's he died. And now the stories are coming out about him. All. No fear all the courage all the steady handedness of this guy to say. Just want it's it's probably not real. If you believe that it was real we wouldn't be here right now. Voters had been that bad a bad day I truly. Truly a sad day. And I remember this vividly remember. The there were rumblings I was at West Point the time. And we're rumblings there because a lot of the other the officers. There weren't charges thinks disappeared for awhile. And you could she be a concerned look on their faces when they all came back up to it to us this cadets. The real story again didn't come out for a long long time I think it was so. Just a question or two years ago the story came out. So we had dodged a bullet there. And a Petro was the man to it to be able to make that happen do we have anybody out there right now. In the system somewhere and on the check whether it's in North Korea or here in the United States or Japan or South Korea. What has that same sort of steady hand that would be able to say no this isn't real. Let's looks or back to the time yeah. Ten or not it's your time Saint Louis. That's some similar situations to a we had after the yet he's LaMont Scott shooting. We'll find out how bad weather it's getting better we'll go live to Saint Louis in KM XO KM OX radio. When we come back here and is 11109 event freedom he's being too. I'm mag regular team and Scott FitzGerald this is news 11109 event for WB 28 tomorrow. Kenny Smith joins us 11 o'clock ten passes being your peers is going to be in your post and run the show and W on the sidelines there. We're going to be asked them all sorts questions about the mayoral race that is on the way to Saint Louis is a lot of eyes watch and the the city with the arch into because. Well eighty arrests after the third not a demonstrations in Saint Louis this all started as a result of an acquittal. I'm a police officer officer starkly and a Brian Kelly with KM OX radio joins us now here's the home of the cards are urgent. Yes we ought to cardinals and the blues and the blues are kinda learning how the cards doing here I'm a reds fan and I am astonished at third place. Chicago dirt road third place has left an epic set their toast now. Brian I know you definitely yeah I you've been following the other situation since the acquittal of officer starkly. But let's get a little back story on the other shooting ending in Y there's so warm so much unrest because it's not that it was a surprise at all based upon history right for the legal experts are saying why are people are shocked. Well there is another case that comes after the Michael Brown incident and Ferguson a few years back in this this case happened actually six years ago. And the charges were just filed about six months ago. And it was officer a couple of officers do and Europe that Caroline yell. And Anthony Lamar Smith the suspect backed his car into the officers and then a chase will the ninety mile an hour through neighborhoods. And at one point Jason starkly the officer says that we're gonna kill this am guy. Often something to that effect and it's so then after the accident that ended beat. The chase he wound up for the car he ordered Anthony Lamar Smith to show his hand. And that's where it gets murky and bad starkly says that it looked like he was reaching for a gun or those who are defending Smith say that he did not have a gun the DNA on many gun that was found in that car. Was only starkly. It's Bakley had gone back to this police vehicle and gone through. His work bank. And so the judge took all of that into consideration after about a two week trial in a look the jury are not a jury trial by the parents trial. And so the judge made a decision he waited over a month issue that decision and it came down about thirty page. Our decision. Issue that was put out so last Friday. The jury trial they might have been a completely different animal would you think. Exactly and that's why the defense that's for other judge to decide a case and whatever the jury got you. So the the protest how long after the acquittal did these really began his left to my understanding they were already in preparation. Depending on what what came out with a verdict and then all he needed was a go signal. Exactly they were about a dozen people at the courthouse right when the verdict came out and they linked arms and started walking down the streets of Saint Louis and during the course of that day. More and more people came down now the protests that one and all of them in the daytime so far into somebody's head involve a couple of thousand people. Has been peaceful they have blocks streets they have gone through. Our shopping malls they have gone shopping areas that and busy places and they have been peaceful. The problem has the problems have arisen at night. And and the leaders of the peaceful protests in about 10 o'clock at night we'll say OK we're done everybody go home well they may go home. But then the agitator show up. And we've had three different neighborhoods now is the neighborhoods in and businesses we have golden business as. With many broken windows and like last night eighty arrests in Washington avenue on Washington have you and Alice street. What is the part of downtown Saint Louis where a lot of people live and there are a lot of. Restaurants and typically your quite often in the past when there has been violence and looting and and vandalism. It is agitators. Destroying their own neighborhoods sternum not to my understand this is not necessarily the case in this situation hasn't. Not the case at all here the first night it was the central West End it which is a very nice area near the hospital complex here in Saint Louis really nice restaurants a very nice homes there. That one was the first target the Del Mar Luke which has been named one of the great streets of America. That was target number two and then last night target number three was Washington avenue which is kind of they they hip place to be they call it wash and here. And and the a lot of damage to bear on olive street which. Just a block over couple blocks of Dutch shell once again Brian Kelly with KM OX radio and Saint Louis is witnessed here today the governor. He didn't hold back at all basically saying you break something you go to jail and he seems to be following up on that. He is following up on that I think Ferguson caught a lot of people off guard nobody is caught off guard by the the National Guard is on stand by here I understand you were on the downtown streets web site they're not really been called in actively yet. I would not be surprised to see that change especially good there is another demonstration scheduled for tonight in the cellmark loop which is they. Third great American street that was damaged a couple of nights ago. But yet they are not standing back the police have been very active in fact one of the protesters chances whose street. Our streets last night as police were making those eighty arrest the officers were chanting whose streets. Oh wow wow that's fascinating. We had obviously we had some severe protests last year and rioting in light of the Keefe LaMont shooting. And the the mayor here. Got quite a bit of flak for how she responded to this. How about Saint Louis meter lied to crouse and what is the other response is there and and how to people think she's doing. Well it's interesting because after the verdict she came out and expressed disappointment with the verdict. But on the first that a protest her house was targeted there were bricks thrown into windows and paint thrown up on her house. So it's kind of getting it from all sides now the officers the police and that those who favor the authorities. They're upset with her because she came out and said that Jason starkly should've probably been found guilty and then the protesters because she had an authority figure they'll. Sore and I'm happy gotcha what about the faith community I know that quite often when there's dissident you know disturbances and unrest. They come out make a statement either you know hey go after more hey let's calm down where they taken a position this time around. Well they support the protests but they don't wanted to be violent although at one point one other clergy leaders said that there is violence. It is on the hands of the police which caught a lot of people don't got some eyebrows raised. They are part of the group that that are leading the protests. And then kind of sign off at 10 or 11 o'clock at night and say whatever happens from here on. It's not our problem and and I I talk to us state representative brits French junior who what they Ferguson activists in the palace state rep started thinking is one of the leaders of this. This movement here. And he is frustrated that a lot of the talk is about the violence that happened that night. And that the two or 3000 people that are protesting peacefully in the afternoon and evening. And I asked them like that is there a point where the peaceful protest leaders at the Internet at the stick around later and try to keep. We know that the violent protesters there and the agitators from doing what they're doing. And he said you know we can't control how some people are going to react to this verdict basically. You know. Washing his hands and that's what a lot of them are doing a what happens after midnight. Sort of door yeah that's right Brian Kelly Kim likes red elastic. I know I've seen guys some videos of whom got arrested is this seems like there's quite a few whites caucasians as opposed to blacks as it is it a mixed crowd. It's very much a mixed crowd very racially diverse and men and women and yet there there are a lot of white people or in this movement so that's just. A black movement and a lot of like people are being arrested along with some African Americans. Our Brian Kelly came up so radio please appreciate it tells Steve Moore thanks so much for up for allowing us to have this opportunity. Best of luck and you've been out there covering it so be safe and let's hope that. Calmer heads prevail a break in backe will level get an update on the UN the president speaking to the United Nations today. How tough Willis this fancy he takes me well we'll find out we'll come back here runners 1110993. WB teams. At thirty Florida hey they're Scott FitzGerald says there's eleven tonight after WBT national security advisor HR McMaster. They say that the United States needs to keep up the pressure on North Korea. Due to the continued Saber rattling. We really have to move with a great deal of urgency on sanctions on diplomacy. And on preparing if necessary military option. I asked about the president's reference in a tweet to North Korean leader Kim Jung alone as rocket man. When I was hysterical. There's really funny. Of course that's where the rockets are coming from so yes it absolutely makes sense Jimmy been on hold on I appreciate your patience. How you call 704571110. North Korea and the Pueblo where you know where this one or. Oh my earlier comment at all about a cop is sort of our campus stop bullies were the cops sharp kid that had a knife or an open mind. Yes there's a leatherman who looks like what was the tool. You know our call to walk around with a 145. Year old technology automatic got pistols. The first COLT forty baht and development late 18100. But basically the same technology we're putting people on murder and we've got way out of our donors arms circled the mark. Other times you're better rail properly starting bush years. As you know the play drop thank god take the white Lamar Cox. What and why can't we develop the kind of technology this site more human being and what that put up forty mile all of triple slug through it bought. You think there would be a way to do that you know I don't get. My comment about that but look for upload the USS Pueblo is Islam in America I am. You may have any golf in North Korea as we speak. One slider got 82 who were tortured they wore recharge. And don't forget cool hand. Fly 747. Or from New York Anchorage to South Korea. That only met by Brewster like fifteen minute lawyer Bob white Russians took that one out of the air very close to North Korea. The reply has got to Jesse Helms at a uh huh uh huh yeah grown up what the congressman. The long wet now have at York are cholera the moment. Britain that the law hotbed area it we met her career tomorrow is not old ball the issue of the job called charcoal to Bruton straw or man or are you still are gonna ask those issues. That there are real adversaries at all. Together I've always believed. The North Korea is is a rogue nation you know they've got a bit of a mind of their around. But Russia has been using them for years the Chinese have been using them for years because they don't want to pay a democracy. We know complete and total democracy on the Korean Peninsula they just don't wanna CNET. Well I thought I would yet strong arm. My human strident tactics water pick type including blocking all incoming goods from both Russia and China. They get those people are glad I don't live there it is better to let you connect it got a career it would hurt Eric got to North Korea are still boggles well let me. Our goal. Yeah okay no I agree with the under percent to end one of the things that I that I learned here I'm might have been an early morning renew her last I reading is one of the things that we haven't. Put on sanctions to keep from the north Koreans is what they need for rocket fuel. We have none of this would be an issue if they didn't have rockets feel. Jim a mystery to me I guess you. Do appreciate you join a mission here. Paley. Here's a master to be a UN Nikki Haley she's not holding back you know she has not mincing any words. An issue very very powerful. In in describing the possible military options against North Korean. He could see the look in her eyes she says we wanted to be responsible and go through all. The diplomatic means to get their attention first of that doesn't work. Defense Secretary James Mattis will take care and and then she said if North Korea keeps on win this reckless behavior the US has to defend itself or defend its allies. In any way North Korea will be destroyed. And we know that and we know that and none of us want that none of us want war. I would agree I don't think anybody really wants to go down that road George good morning here on WB to eight. Morning you know. However I understand it nick in North Korea land and all fallout from all of the not just you know released retaliation. Chatham Russian whatever. But the fallout from a nuclear probably take out half the people of South Korea into the wind is. Yeah added down. But my concern right now is to is. Stop those mills pulled where's he getting those mills told that many mills we'll see you know stop the incoming flow out there notion. But the other thing up all about is. These rockets that he's firing let's say it does not have our war here velvet Serb part but what if one of those rockets bay hill. And downtown Japan you know where it failed due in mid air and so forth in just crisper and fail. Have made 800000. By the people on both rockets are massive rocket city would feel whole. By just going through right town you know just all resolved when it crashes in mid NASCAR does sell also deserve. We've got to stop those rockets coming here I mean those are the other rockets so the using government. Not so easy George defense experts have long warned not this is a brand new article American anti missile capabilities. Still long shot technology. And most likely would fail. Against North Korean missiles we yeah we can shoot down hours under controlled. You're in control circumstances but as of right now they are not very confident that what we have will actually become a shield are dome. I like the Israelis have so there's a certain false sense of security when it comes to our missile defense systems both for Japan. Port South Korea and for the United States appreciate the update there but yes yeah. It's a sticky wicket to a single released a break and back we're gonna go to via a UN caricatures we've ABC's gonna give us another update on. What elite what president Charles was saying and all involved in the reactions from the rest of the world that's on the stand court. Seven is your time of day or just maybe she's gonna show us momentarily. Talk about the UN. Presidents and obviously things and stiffer sanctions against North Korea we'll see whether nobody actually gets us. Public debut called 704 option I don't know 1110 happy Monday wanna go ahead and take a cut the head off a North Korea's aren't. You know I've got our first former submarine and I believe it that propelled available for strike. Well being that has never worked a bit more whichever way the guys but not usual more true. Read every time we tried diplomacy. All of our oldest or that country. To reinforce or to continue on an air air Conchita develop missiles and that type of play. What far better off right now just take. Cherry for example 200000 casualties in South Korea South Korean civilians. Spent another hundred thousands of US military there widener children. Linda even Nestle and yet sent to a short new Yorker cargo five years from now and loose hundreds of well overall homeland. And would this suffer the local couple of things first of all appeasement I think it's a different completely different situation between right now. And what you're talking about and what Chamberlain and with killer because. And Kim Jung un is not trying to expand his territory Hitler was it was going to take over Europe or slowly but you know so it was a very different a piecemeal kind of thank. And is far as a first rate goes with. The move that they're the debts in South Korea. Would we make this decision all on our own without talking to South Korea about this 'cause I'm sure they would have a bit of an issue losing 200000 other people. No I think you're after you have to talk in the South Korea but on the other hand it. I don't believe they're trying to hold Russia would with a very good thing that ever lived. Takes some type of diplomatic actions will draw you were engaging in a while against breast that would never happen. China's Carty said that that they would be on the side of the north Koreans if we do if. For strike. Schroeder say that what else do you expect him to say but in terms of actual taking action never gonna happen very much you're good. We know they're very large commercial and were bought one racquet down of that there's escalates things. You should take North Korea wipe all of them out. Getter award now because you know and we sit around that would wait. That would blow the diplomacy game prosecution now seven years now maybe so there. We're gonna take a hit in this country more to a punishable but would make North Korea want to do that. Because I think I think you enjoyed under it is completely awful that you rocker. I think he's an unstable person I've read all the reports or lost Eddie Goodell started the career they enjoy what. But I don't believe he's as valuable person. Well I mean. You're the first that that is truly said that and there's been some discussions of instability but the other thing is she's crazy like a fox. And the most important thing for him is to hold on to the regime so that he can stay in power. I'm sure I don't know that to mean he knows if he does anything. And choose an inning off he's dead. If he's he's absolutely dead and I don't know about you but. If there's a reasonable bone in his body why do something that's going to guarantee. That you lose everything. I don't think there's a reasonable bone in his body. And I think he is father's grandfather they've all proven it over the years. What if. Mean you can you how long we your marine. One year 21 years. When new technology came out. To work to you know to be demonstrated new technology. Did it ever surprise you because chances are when they actually demonstrated something that have been around for years and years and years do you think there's any. And we said that we already have the technology to take their missiles down to sort of acting like we don't buy issued these are these interceptors on. You know I think I think you're all besides the good of love actually ponder that before but I do believe there's. We've got technology out there that we've never ever rebuild our show our cards all. Well course because we don't want to get into a it defensive. Build up a defensive. You know escalation with the Chinese and the Russians they've already there are a little nervous on that side. Do I appreciate your time I don't think a first strike is necessarily the way to go actually I don't think it's there at the right way to go and all. At this point in time is gonna Eric deters can now. Width he's look at the United Nations are guitarist with ABC the president he's probably not gonna hold her pony conscience here. And he might try to demonstrate that what he says is what he means well can we expect. Well he's already. Articulating some of what he has been saying that the US needs to be reformed and he spoke. Had a meeting encouraging the progress toward that regard I mean I reform the president means pay less money to. And and he has long thought the United Nations pose a country club and no friend to America and I really he's out. I think to introduce himself on this unfamiliar stage say he's home in New York but this is new turf for him and it it it's. They're electing him to explain how America first can function within an organization that. That is founded on the basis of international cooperation. Moon. How complicated. Is the whole world of the United Nations 'cause when I take a look at it it's a little hard for me to grasp. You know the ins and outs of everything here. It would tickle a lot of a lot of tutoring and mentoring to get to the point where you understand everything and all the tentacles of the United Nations who was. Rule and then I don't think the president's. Out to understand it all or even insisted there at all. But he is out to make an impression it is UN ambassador Nikki Haley said. Residents there to work not to grip and grin. And I think trying to rally support for additional measures against North Korea even over. President of the China and Russia are not there. He's also out to define a position on Iran would we may hear about in his speech tomorrow after he has threatened to scuttle the Iran nuclear deal. Also climate change and he's meeting today went. President not cross France. When they may be. I have an announcement about the US position after rumors started swirling on Friday that he was prepared to keep the UN. In that the Paris climate accord so you know who were just not sure indoor or are we really sure whether this is going to be a more pragmatic president who's learning that. That the world doesn't function and tweets. Or if it if it's going to be that kind of president who don't do you know. He spent part of the weekend that tweeting about hitting Hillary Clinton and about what a golf ball right so there's this two different aspects to his. Personality in his presidency and we're waiting to see which prevails. Yeah a lot of folks say that a President Obama was sort of placating a disorder payless playing nice to pump. To your knowledge and and and in your experience is there Ben in recent years a leader from any country that has come in and truly tried to shake up the United Nations. You know age tries to their own way I think dumb but it's it's good intractable body immediately look at it is by its by its nature. I complicated place. What I find interesting is that for all of the presidents you know. Scorned or parents scorn of the United Nations. Is foreign policy successes have happened within its bounds and in North Korea's being sanctioned twice since the president. Took office is a significant accomplishment. And and I think probably is major foreign policy success. You know he's been. And sending Jared Kushner over to. Take Israel to try and solve that. So who knows if there's any progress reports there we know video here wrong he is prepared symptom makes some news this week we in the United Nations. Does that it has climate change as well so even though he doesn't seem to like your organization or didn't as a candidate. Keep its foreign policy I think has been much more active at the UN and through Nikki Haley Bennett has to the State Department and Rex Tillerson. Gotcha who are some of the other world leaders he's going to be meeting with a no Netanyahu was on the docket who else. Netanyahu and the girl of France today. And then more sideline meetings would that the president of South Korea and Japan. Where they'll deal strictly with North Korea. Okay and then fairly soon coming up Teresa may as well as our Angela Merkel is that right time in the near future. And then these are the world leaders he's met before with whom he gets along that's not like he's going to be sitting down with a you know from the bureau of Venezuela right but there's always the chance meeting in the hallway which is what makes the UN is such a fascinating place because. Everyone is welcome. Yeah it's yeah I imagine it's well like you said it's a bit of a country club to a certain extent and I'm sure everybody is gonna have their. Another sweater drinks and all but hopefully something gets done America first will be be a declaration by the president caricatures he always a pleasure for me please and thank you so much. Go to intent 57 up. We got hurricanes brought the weather channel leather get off your Duff and losing their minds are collective minds yet again because of what's Jose Reyes and that's going to be an issue for those of their new England and then we've got Maria. Was no wind named Marie. She's grown in the Atlantic and it looks like she might be headed. On the same path that Hermosillo witches. It's not a good thing for any. Tbilisi erased the at trump national golf course here in North Carolina guess what the triathlon. Has been canceled we'll take a look at that one MB. Lack of courage as far as that goes plus Chelsea Manning was going to Harvard not others protested saying that she should that in more on the president tweeted earlier. Happy seventieth birthday. We CIA. It's amazing it's been that long gives right after world war two. I would love for. Seventy years since BCI. Could you could you get away with a trying to throw a surprise party for the CIA it's. Any possibility that worked out that but the. There's a new drug from a surprise party and you walk in there and then they would have guns drawn. Can they knew all about it surprised birdies please just a moment. So what twelve Harvard students twelve Harvard University student groups. Are not happy they are condemning these schools reversal. Other decision to named Chelsea Manning India visiting fellow. There's been cut controversy about this around my thumb pick of the CIA director. Last week said this is ridiculous. I'm not commercial appeal to planned appearance there. And he decided not to do it because. Of this designation as a visiting fellow for Chelsea Manning disorder that was convicted of leaking classified information he's like I'm not gonna go there. Not if you're gonna have the trader. Understaffed. So they're not however said not Bubba now we're not gonna do it so Friday they should know this has risen to be the case we're we're gonna stop controls in there is no longer going to be a fellow. There was an interview with Chelsea. In all her glorious weirdness. His glorious we're distributing whatever the situation is too good to ask whether enough. She or he was a traders are you an American traitor. No I'm not. And I believed that I did the best like I said in my circumstances to make an ethical decision. Manning a former private in the army turned traitor making those comments as several groups at Harvard University. Are making a push to have her reinstated as a visiting fellow. At the Harvard Kennedy school. Albert decided to let many speak at the school but will not be giving her a your long visiting fellowship thing. Traitor and should sanction him he's trader. And I and I applaud. Finally the right decision on behalf of Harvard to say no. Forget death Harvard Kennedy school dean Douglas Helmand or so is on the schools were upset that naming Manning a visiting fellow was mistake. This is Manning a store invited to spend a day at the school and speak to students but not be part of the the other folks that are actually trying to teach people. So we the these student groups. Saying this is this is chicken and whether condemning this. What ever happened to two people going to college. To try to learn some. As opposed to looking around for something to protest. Mean I get it that's where protests generally happened in on college campuses that sort of thing but it's it it doesn't Thomas doesn't matter what anybody guns. If the president today says and repeats United Nations is not a front of democracy. Well when somebody is going to protest the president because he's you know bad mothering democracy. Or they're mean they can come over just about anything. You throw a ball anywhere near that some of these students they'll go rabbit and protest about it. And they've got a stretch in the got to reach and they gonna try really really hard many cases to rock to come up with something to start complaining about. You're gonna which as far as colleges got John Jay college. It was a professor there who said. And what a dork he says it's a privilege to teach future dead cops. Yes or he's gonna end hiding. He was so brave to bills say that I'm so privileged to teach future dead cops. He's gone and hiding amid an avalanche of death threats. He. Tim is Mike Isaacson and he fled the city. And adamant that refused to reveals whereabouts this came as a result of the other tweet that came out on August 23. This is. I was not really considering that people would take this seriously. Don't. Lose hope. But he was on repentant about you thinking what sort of backed it up a little bit. He says the content between as a fact because I teach police and everybody dies including police. What's not a very bright way to go. And that's trying to cover that's a CYA. Sort of position to take here when everybody knows what you are talking about it. Mean how could you not take it that way that that essentially wants constant that's how I took them out when I first read it yet. Do you wanna go by the way. So he's a he's hiding things a self proclaimed member of the 25 movement. Hand. PM Sunday posted a threat of some of the threats I've received after he made an appearance on Fox News the day before. I was a cop this one went to him I was a top 200 injured I know where your colleges are immigrate chopped. What do we want we want dead professors should. No and that there was no veiled. There was no you know hidden meaning we gonna got to dig into it if you so desire and it was a pretty much over the top. When there was one that was little more direct as far as how they felt about tell his background Isaacson is is Jewish. If I can even read any of the words in this one. Birdied it involved a road and and not to a lovely future for this professor so again colleges hot beds of why it. And and consequences to people. The disappointment should not be surprised at all you open your mouth of the mistake a soccer took the worst into the break him back we got some hurricanes brought what kind of problems will they cause. The other East Coast and potentially us. We'll find out or can backyard news 11109893. WBT. But maintain hey there and Scott FitzGerald. Interest in watching how the Democrats do their your ridiculous this around each other. Governments Vermont senator Bernie Sanders was pushing back over the weekend. Good things very upset and accusations from Hillary. In a book that that he did markets are you could offer from the White House. Our work is all but called the shuttle fuel we will do what the president traditional politics troubled whose borders will doubled it would it would topple ball touched. I know it is useful but it was a do we have to go for. We'll show your credentials entry just to stay in the forefront here is for us feel the world of Democrats word. Socialist or depending on how you look at that. We got storms broke an unfortunate Maria has intensified to a category three. Her regain hurricane Richard the wrong with the weather channel. This is cardinal and the stern look here early eerily reminiscent isn't it. Yes sure is especially if for the island to have already been hard hit by at least. Two tropical systems were dharma and Harvey and of course looks like they're going to be no more than likely dealing with a major hurricane. That is going to be impacting no parts of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and probably. Are the next 24 to 36 hours we've seen a new hurricane warnings to that have been issued for the our US Virgin Islands as well as for the British Virgin Islands. As we continue to watch this hurricane really start to intensify about sixty miles east of Martinique right now. Well with winds of 120 miles per hour. By the time against Puerto Rico and about 36 hours this could be a category four hurricane. On the verge of going to a category five so this is going to be another significant hurricane. For the island to the Caribbean and then of course want to moves over Puerto Rico moves. Into the island to the bombers the gets closer to the US that. Still not seeing any signs that says the US will see any impact from that but of course we've got a long time I watched this system as it continues to drift on up toward the north and west. What do we look at as far as last time around when it came to her there was a high pressure system over the United States that. Just I mean it was like an inviting a a woman and to complain part cheesy for a firmer I mean it was welcoming and unfortunately it was it was just what she needed to to Greeks American customer problems. Do we know what we're looking at as far as what's gonna come down over the continental US that to a may affect. Maria. Well there's a couple of different features that we are watching of course we still have our other hurricane that we're looking at right now who's say. And there is a little weakness up and down the eastern seaboard from where rose is actually out right now of course Jose is now down it was 75 mile per hour hurricane. And of course it is really started to look more and more like an extra tropical system that looks like it's losing a lot of its tropical characteristics. Even though that's the case will more than likely guys still see tropical storm conditions are proportions in the northeast coast over the next few days and of course. The system is gonna kind of sit and meander off to a video New England coach for the next couple of days if that weakness can stay in place. That may open the door for Maria had to come up. And take that weakness and move it up out into the open waters of the Atlantic can keep an offshore. But if CS system falls apart oppose say falls apart and high pressure can ridge. Across that area we could see some problems down the road with only a kind of taking a similar path to what we saw what karma and that could put Florida and the southeast in the play. In regards to that so. The next few days are going to be telling him exactly where. Maria goes once Jose moves out of the way if Jose still hang around here toward the end of the week. We may have an opening for this storm to move on out and open and the open waters of the Atlantic cannot go play a role anywhere along the eastern seaboard with the exception of some highway. Dodger Richard the wrong with a weather channel I read an article over the weekend that she is a way that made the suggestion that perhaps we need to work. Would Africa. And trying to do something about the other western portion. Of the Sahara Desert maybe a big giant planned to plant trees and and vegetation and shrubs to. Try to cool things off before even before those air flows underpinning the ocean and ever heard anything along those lines. I'd never heard of anything like that but it's you know that that is an interesting concept of if they can develop something like that to mitigate some of the some of the effects of these hurricanes of course. There might be some that look at as say as a mitigation purpose and in regards to that so at least seven interest. During the city would be or just paint the unitholders are what black and white yellow light so that that reflects everything on the national wealth Woolsey. These guys how much fun in his NAL's brawn behind it at what there was a there there was a small little system that was right behind it that seems to be breaking up is that are still the case. Yeah that's tropical depression believe it looks like that is gonna continue to remain at depression available more than likely lose its tropical characteristics. Out of the open waters of the Atlantic and a couple of days and I think once we get past. At least these systems here it looks like we may catch a little bit of a break we're not seeing any other signs of any think. Coming off the African coast it's getting about that time of the year we start seeing that by the cape bird seasons start to look. Wind down a little bit so the activity that wolf we focusing in on mail as we move into the month of October. Will be a more close in tropical development would cold front and so the drop down into the Gulf Coast. And into the Atlantic waters that may be producer spent up. All the tropical system but now we still have these two systems to watch and as long as they're out there will continue to watch him. My last question I think a neglected to ask this question is. Let's assume that Maria does her thing and comes our way what what timeframe there we'd looking at for potential landfall let's assume the common units sends it to work. To do their shores of the United States are we looking at this weekend middle of next week what. Yeah we're looking at probably time for him sometime in the early to middle part of next week at this point because. Right now they yelled the long range strike that we have five days has it. Just into the central bombers so. Looks like go we will probably be talking about this as we make our way. Didn't you may be Monday or Tuesday problem. What about this time next week we would be talking about possible impacts. Somewhere in the southeastern US maybe by the early may be Monday Tuesday of actually to this point enough Richard Lou well linked with the weather channel appreciate your insight and I'm sure. We're going to be relying on your expertise so as we get closer and closer so thanks so much. So well we have a another situation where the shooting. Saint Louis views kind of already going through their. They're not quite the clean up process to try to calm things down. Because of these be riots in light of what independent when an officer being acquitted for. Very questionable shooting a number of years back and in Georgia Georgia Tech there was a student activists shot dead. By campus police it's. That's another bang bang up. The you can hear campus police shall drop the knife to the student before gunshots last night. Officials say 21 year old Scot Shields refused to drop his weapon and kept moving toward officers outside dorm rooms. Our sister station in Atlanta our reports the weapon that was still on the ground when reporters arrived. Appeared to be a half open a multi tool without any attachments extended. Right now it's unclear why officers responded to the area where shields was walking on campus. His mother told the Atlanta journal constitution. That her son had numerous medical issues including depression. We're also working to find out if the officers involved are still on. Shenzhen B administrative leave that's for sure never understood why when somebody's got a nice fitting go with a taser they they certainly didn't do at this time. Yes my yes meanwhile my dad's. Shots fired shots fired. 72 off and unfortunately but again. We'll do with the police tell you to do this are going to be consequences that is for sure there's going to be consequences. Rocket man that is what the president is called Kim Jong on what's happening when North Korea quick update when we come back. As well as we'll take you live to Saint Louis where the riots are happening let's cross your fingers two in two days from now we're not dealing with what they are. We heard about massive attacks in Europe. It seems to be via the other way low level terrorists do their thing and unfortunately. For American college kids from Boston College who were visiting France were treated for burns. By after a woman sprayed them with acid at a train station martian day at this point time investigators are not. Considering the attack at terrorist attack. But that's as of right now. That could change depending on. What do investigation shoes I was surprised. To Equifax executives are retiring. And this comes just days after the hundred no credit reporting firm was hacked. So this was really huge data breach half nearly half of the US population snagged. So leaving the company CI a chief information officer Dave would have along with chief security officer Susan Malden. Wall street beat them beat him to hell. Hammered them and analyze it with a last week shares dropping more than 33%. Relevancy that would covent. Traversal that when short are. And again who would have thought. Cut the CEO Richard Smith is going to be a Nazi in front of the other House of Representatives to testify whatever was coming up but October 3. And I need to do some day I was perturbed to talk to some folks over the weekend who said that the person who's in charge security. Wasn't even a computer computer person. And a degree of in the arts of some sort. Just what you want somebody who's a big on Greek architecture and in sculpture. Handling computer security. Some things just don't make sense. Holy week and the the president had to tweet. Very funny when. He says I spoke with president moon. Told us South Korea. Asked him how rocket man is doing. Long gas lines forming a North Korea to bet. We have met got a response yet from Kim Jong run on that whenever we. Still waiting. When you from a to B front. The president. Has or should talk to the president of South Korea and they're trying to figure out what they had to do next and. Tonight president trump. We'll meet with South Korean president no endgame and for the first time at the White House and the main goal is to get North Korea to abandon its rapidly expanding nuclear and missile programs. For the resignation of ambassador to the UN because North Korea will continue beefing up its nuclear arsenal and regardless of the sanctions or military pressure yeah this comes as your congressman on both sides of the aisle are proposing a new law restricting American tourism to the country. After the death of auto warned parents. And no one thinks another article and read over the weekend was we've made a big mistake a big boo boo dealing with Kim Jung on. In that we have not restricted. Rocket fuel. Two near north Koreans. Just think if that would happen years and years and years ago when they do to attest to rockets. Being a little more difficult wouldn't it it's like you can't tie your shoes if you don't have shoelaces. And it's a little simplistic picked perhaps we should have thought about that. The people who are spurs to think about things like that production units and thought. Our national security advisor HR McMaster. Said via the US needs to keep up its pressure on North Korean. Via this Abram and Saber rattling continues. I can't remember the latest threat. From Kim Jung on base and they're all kind of the same you don't like it you die now. He's as we really have to move within a great deal of urgency on sanctions on clemency and on preparing if necessary military option. The so that doesn't happen window closed early today as saying yeah we need to do via a preemptive strike appeasement doesn't work. And it was disturbing because many the numbers for marine marine 21 years and then the Marine Corps so probably. Do you 100000. US military deaths. And 200000 South Korean civilians. And I'm assuming that that turned 2000 would also via members of their military as well. Which is set up pretty heavy price to pay. Preemptive strike and who knows what that would do to China Chun has already set T. You punch we're gonna jump into the fray. Cautious optimism about the future I'm not so sure. The other question that Tim and I brought up and of course nobody's gonna give us this answer is. What's our technology do we have the could possibly shoot down these missiles that that we haven't told anybody about. Did anybody really know that we had stealth technology. Up until the time that the a stealth bomber. Did its thing in Iraq. I mean they're disgusted but I think they had said that it was going to be years and years and years away. Not so much. The technology and then the things that the military has I can't even imagine. Just how far advanced it is and I got stuffed domain they're part of flying saucers. Yeah yeah a cool I don't wanna know that they should keep that a secret you don't know now why is it will dine me you'll notice. What you would tell our enemies now and if you knew you would tell him not just basically what you're saying John I keep that a secret nefarious if it. You just said if they if you knew you would that the enemies would now because if it bit if I know that means everybody probably noticed that I'm clueless. And North America. Self realization know thyself I. Right now lifted I've known self be true. On the same way the same time Nikki Haley UN ambassador has said. United States has to defend itself or defend its allies in anyway and if that happens North Korea. Will be destroyed and we know that and none of us want that. Kind of slow work true. Very very true it's a concert thing is nobody wants to put our children. Into harm's way of breaking back Saint Louis dealing with a situation very similar to what we've dealt with two years ago Wednesday. Riots stamp. Saint Louis is a lot of eyes watching. The the city with the arch into because. Well the eighty arrests after the third not a demonstrations in Saint Louis this all started as a result of an acquittal. For the police officer officer starkly and a Brian Kelly with KM OX radio joins us now he has an arm of the cards are urgent. Yes we are the cardinals and the blues and the blues don't kinda learn and how the cards doing here on the reds fan and I am astonished at third place. Chicago they're so third place has got an epic that's their toast now. Brian I know you rightly then I you've been following the other situation since the acquittal of officer starkly. But let's get a little back story on the other shooting Andy and why there's so warm so much unrest because it's not it wasn't a surprise at all based upon history right for the legal experts are saying why are people are shocked. Well this is another case becomes after the Michael Brown incident and Ferguson a few years back in this this case happen actually six years ago. And the charges were just filed about six months ago. And it was officer a couple of officers do in Europe that heroin deal. And Anthony Lamar Smith the suspect backed his car into the officers and then a chase will the ninety mile an hour through neighborhoods. And at one point Jason starkly the officer said that we're gonna kill us groom guy. Often something of that fact and it's so then after the accident that ended the the chase he wound up for the car he ordered Anthony Lamar Smith to show his hand. And that's where it gets murky and that starkly says that it looked like he was reaching for a gun. Or those who are defending Smith say that he did not have a gun the DNA on many gun that was found in that car was only starkly. It's Bakley had gone back to this police vehicle and gone through. Is work back. And so the judge took all of that into consideration after about a two week trial and what the jury are not a jury trial but defense trial. Until the judge made a decision he waited over a month's issue that decision and it came down about thirty page. Our decision. Issue that was put out so last Friday. The jury trial might have been a completely different animal would you think. Exactly and that's why the defense that's for other judge to decide a case and sped up the jury got you. So the the protest how long after the acquittal did these really began his left to my understanding they were already in preparation. Depending on what what came out with a verdict and then all he needed was a go signal. Exactly they were about a dozen people at the courthouse right when the verdict came out and they linked arms and started walking down the streets of Saint Louis and during the course so bad they. More and more people came down now the protests that one and all of them in the daytime so far it's somebody's got involved a couple of thousand people. Has been peaceful they have blocks streets they have gone through. Our shopping malls they're gone you're shopping areas and and busy places and they have been peaceful the problem has. The problems have arisen at night. And and the leaders of the peaceful protests in about 10 o'clock at night we'll say OK we're done everybody go home well they may go home. But then the agitators show up. In we've had three different neighborhoods now is the neighborhoods then and businesses we look gold a business says. With many broken windows and Mike last night eighty arrests in Washington avenue on Washington have you and Alice street. What is the part of downtown Saint Louis where a lot of people live and there are a lot of. Roster in the typically York quite often in the past when there has been violence and looting Indian vandalism. It is agitators. Destroying their own neighborhoods still no not to my understand this is not necessarily the case in the situation as it. Not the case at all here the first night it was the central West End it which is a very nice area near the hospital complex here in Saint Louis really nice restaurants a very nice homes there. That one was the first target the Bill Maher Lukowich who has been named one of the great streets of America. That was target number two and then last night target number three was Washington avenue which is kind of they they hip place to be they call it wash and here. And and a lot of damage to bear on olive street which just. The clock over couple thought felt got you once again Brian Kelly with KM OX radio in Saint Louis is with us here today the governor. He didn't hold back at all basically saying you break something you go to jail and he seems to be followed up on that. He is following up on that I think Ferguson caught a lot of people off guard nobody is caught off guard by this. The National Guard is on stand by here I understand they were on the downtown streets web site if not really been called in actively yet. I would not be surprised to see that change especially good there at another demonstration scheduled for tonight in the cellmark loop which is they. Third great American street that was there was a couple of nights ago. But yet they are not standing back the police have been very active in fact one of the protesters chances whose street. Our streets last night as police were making those eighty arrests the officers were chanting whose streets. Oh wow wow that's fascinating. We had obviously we had some severe protests last year and rioting in light of the Keith LaMont shooting. And the the mayor here. Got quite a bit of flak for how she responded to this. How about Saint Louis made her life to crouse and what is the other response is there and and how people think she's doing. Well it's interesting because after the verdict she came out and expressed disappointment with the verdict. But on the first at a protest her house was targeted there were bricks thrown into windows and paint thrown up on her house. So it's kind of getting it from both sides now the officers the police and that those who favor the authorities. They're upset with her because she came out and said that Jason starkly should've probably been found guilty and then the protesters because she had an authority figure they'll. Sore and I'm happy gotcha what about the faith community I know that quite often when there's dissident you know disturbances and unrest. They come out make a statement neither you know hate go after more hey let's calm down where they taken a position this time around. Well they support the protests but they don't want him to be violent although at one point one other clergy leaders that if there is violence. It is on the hands of the police which caught a lot of people you don't got some eyebrows raised. They are part of the group that that are leading the protests. And then kind of sign off that 10 or 11 o'clock at night and say whatever happens from here on. It's not our problem and I talked state representative for its French junior who what they Ferguson activists in the palace state rep to that and he is one of the leaders of this. That the movement here. And he is frustrated that a lot of the talk is about the violence that happened that night. And that the two or 3000 people that are protesting peacefully in the afternoon and evening. And I asked them like that is there a point where the peaceful protest leaders at the stance at this stick around later and try to keep. We know that the violent protesters and in the agitators from doing what they're doing. And he said you know we can't control how some people are going to react to this verdict. Basically. You know. Washing his hands and that's what a lot of them are doing of what happens after midnight. Sort of door yeah that's right Brian Kelly Kim likes red elastic. I know I've seen guys some videos of whom got arrested is this seems like there's quite a few whites caucasians as opposed to blacks as it is that a mixed. Crowd it's very much a mixed crowd very racially diverse and men women and yet they're there are a lot of white people or in this movement so that's just. A black movement and a lot of white people are being arrested along with some African American. His right and then reporters to actually everybody's. Did you know again. But as of right now still go on on protest there they're chanting at the steps of the City Hall. We've we've seen some of the the similarity in some of the sites no justice no peace that sort of thing. What else whose streets our streets whose streets our streets it's fascinating to hear him say that the the police. Turn that around. As they were confronting the protestors. Saying. Whose streets our streets. Some some video coming out of Saint Louis right now looks like things are a little bit quieter but you conceived. All sorts of plywood. Covered building City Hall. Near the main buildings there and they're all boarded up. Monday morning protest in downtown begins with a silent march so that is that is still going on as of the moment. Which is. Much better than what could be done a hundred people as of right now. Following. Following the path from the police department to city hall and that's were legal and back again. Our Ryan even holding on and you ought to make a comment North Korea is I believe the other topic what do what's on your mind right. Well I think a big prank calls Scott I was in the military QB. Top secret security Claire specifically in the military in AI. I remember Qaeda echelons so I had the option or is he a lot of interesting. It is in technology are you know that your daughter many here listeners know there's not much we know that we have. She mountain later now I'm talking lasers that are large enough to crack issued an. And we don't talk about these capabilities very opted for the same reason you know your program Scott was talking about. It's best that our enemies don't know about the stuff we asked Jordan I would what I wouldn't you got before we had we had culture. Artillery later. That in county got a big weather the but the difference between a ballistic child metal and crude fell recruit Damaso expire. From Yorker it would it would take a little over there I think what it is more than an hour. You get the these US mainland. And during that time we have these Billy this is scramble jets execute these girls. We have newly confirmed that at least you're targeting that crippled well let it go well let gray predicting that. We got the lasers can be still a big concern is how to we keep empowered because they use so much power so there's an incredibly large barrage. Artillery coming from North Korea going in the South Korea and gone after shall. That's where the big problems come double C it's a large Kenny Smith on the chopping block. Starting at eleven we'll see of that.
