Panthers kicker Graham Gano arrived for the final 6 games of last season. He helped to settle down a position that had started to go sideways with Justin Medlock missing 3 kicks in a row.
Gano himself had been waived at the end of last pre-season by the Redskins after being their kicker the previous 2 plus seasons. And while Gano had made kicks from as long as 59 yards for Washington, accuracy was the problem in making just 75% of his field goals in his final season there.
But Gano has been gold with the Panthers, making 9 of his 11 kicks last season, and all 5 tries this pre-season including two of them from over 50 yards.
