Former App State Star on the Rise

Armanti Edwards was a big deal at Appalachian State, winning national titles as a heralded quarterback.  But in the NFL, he was drafted by the Panthers and converted to wide receiver and punt returner, two things he never did in Boone.

Edwards did not catch a pass his first two NFL seasons before getting five last year.  That didn't seem to bode well heading into his 4th NFL season, but Edwards has in fact turned a corner.

In the pre-season opener versus Chicago, he collected two passes for 38 yards and also looked very comfortable and smooth in his role.

The Panthers next game is at Philadelphia Thursday night at 7 pm on WBT, with the Stadium Show at 4:30 pm.
