Last Sunday, the Panthers opened their season with a nice road win against the San Francisco 49ers.

The defense led the way with 4 QB sacks in the first half.  The first one was courtesy of Wes Horton, who forced a fumble and the first takeaway of the season for Carolina.

For Horton, it was a sweet homecoming to his home state of California.  He grew up in Sherman Oaks, and played his college football at Southern Cal.

Horton went undrafted coming out of USC, but is now in his fifth season as a Panther, and I talked to him about his big play and looking ahead to the home opener versus the Buffalo Bills.
