UNDATED (AP) — Gonzaga's Zach Norvell Jr. hit a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left to break a tie with UNC Greensboro today, lifting the Zags to a 68-64 first round win and avoiding an embarrassing NCAA Tournament exit for a team that made the final last year. UNC Greensboro made its run midway through the second half as it pushed Gonzaga to the brink of elimination.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Marvin Bagley III dominated in his NCAA Tournament debut, pouring in 22 points to go with seven rebounds as Duke rolled by Iona 89-67 today. The Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year made 10 of 14 shots in 32 minutes, grabbed seven rebounds and knocked down his lone 3-point attempt as the second-seeded Blue Devils overwhelmed the 15th-seeded Gaels.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A person familiar with the situation says the Carolina Panthers and unrestricted free agent defensive tackle Dontari Poe have agreed on a three-year, $28 million deal. The 27-year-old played five seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs and went to two Pro Bowls after being selected with the 11th overall pick in the NFL draft in 2012. Poe spent last season with the Falcons and played in 16 games. He had 39 tackles, 2 ½ sacks and two passes defensed.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The McCourty twins are back together. The Cleveland Browns traded cornerback Jason McCourty to the New England Patriots today, reuniting him with his brother, Devin. The Browns also sent a seventh-round pick to the Patriots to get a sixth-rounder in return. The Browns have been one of the most active teams in the NFL this offseason as they try to rebuild from last season's 0-16 record.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tom Benson, a successful auto dealer who brought the New Orleans Saints their only winning seasons and the "Benson Boogie," has died. Benson, who has also owned the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans since 2012, was 90. Benson's business acumen helped turn the Saints from a perennial also-ran into a contender — and the 2009 NFL champion.
